Furthermore, foreign entities must reach out to Weibo’s VIP customer support via email to initiate the verification process, rather than directly submitting their business license through Weibo's online interface.

Let's dive into the process:

Step 1: Navigate to Weibo and select "Register a New Account." You'll be directed to the registration page.

It's advisable to start by registering a Personal Account. Given that you'll need to engage with Sina’s VIP customer support for verification, opting for a Personal Account initially can streamline the process, sparing you the additional time it would take to register an Official Account at this juncture.

Step 2: Complete the registration form and submit it. Shortly after, you'll receive an activation email. Follow the link within to activate your Weibo account.

To safeguard against unauthorized registrations, Weibo might request SMS verification of your phone number.

With these steps completed, your personal Weibo account is now set up.

Step 3: Reach out to Sina’s VIP customer support to begin verifying your Weibo account.

We do it a lot, and based on our experience with Weibo, preparing the documents above is not necessary before you get in touch with Weibo, because your inquiry will first be sent to their headquarter, then forwarded to a local branch such as Weibo Hong Kong or Weibo North America.

They will usually give you a longer list of documents that you need to prepare, with examples and detailed instructions.

So our suggestion is you just contact them to address your needs without preparing the documents. Be sure to include the name of your company and the URL of the personal Weibo profile you have just created in the email though.

Weibo will ask you to submit an authorization letter to prove the Chinese company is authorized by your company to register a Weibo page using your business name, logo, description and other information.
